Looking for ways to safely bring your group or student organization together? Here are some of our favorite ways to come together at RecSports prioritizing everyone’s well-being.

Make plans to go to the pool or weight room together.

RecSports facilities are open with enhanced safety protocols and modifications that make social distancing a breeze. Now it’s easier than ever to plan ahead securing a weight room or pool reservation up to seven days in advance with My RecSports.

Don’t just exercise. TeXercise together.

Get together and head to campus for an in-person group exercise class or keep each other motivated through on-demand classes that you can access from wherever you are.

Learn a new skill together.

Attend a free virtual Outdoor Recreation workshop together or arrange a custom class to get everyone First AID/AED/CPR certified.

Set up a private sports tournament or skills contest for some friendly competition.

You can always sign up for intramural sports, but you can also set up your own private event. You bring your team, we provide the space and officials to run the event at a budget-friendly rate. From cornhole to 2v2 sand volleyball, we offer a variety of sports that allow for social distancing. View the list of the sports we’re currently offering and contact us to get started.

Host a private virtual group fitness class.

The beauty of virtual is that you can safely bring together as many of your group members together, no matter where everyone is logging in from. Choose from Yoga, Mat Pilates, Barre, Dance, and Total Conditioning and we’ll set you up with one of our TeXercise instructors to lead the class. No equipment needed. All you have to do is grab your water bottle and a towel and get ready to sweat. Get started.

Explore the outdoors.

There’s so much to explore both in Austin and beyond and ways to do so safely. We have all the gear you need for your next group adventure. Rent high-quality gear and get expert advice from our team at the Outdoor Center, located inside Gregory Gym. If you’re looking for easy ways to simply get outside more, check out A Longhorn’s Guide to Getting Outside.

Lace up and discover the Forty Acres.

Whether you run frequently or you’re just getting started, running or walking through campus (when you're not headed to class) can help you discover new spots or revisit your favorites. Get together for a socially distant group stretch outdoors at Caven-Clark Field and make sure you’re keeping your distance along your route. You might even find some inspiration along the way to get a team together and add Longhorn Run to your UT bucket list.

Treat yourself.

Whether as part of your next workout or just because, pick up your favorite treat at Shake Smart inside Gregory Gym and get together outside at the Oaks Lounge or on the South Mall for a social distant hangout and a dose of Vitamin D.
